I was introduced to Ruth's prayer notebook sample at the Pastors Wives Retreat at The Wilds in 2016. As I looked at it, I knew that I needed something like this to help me pray more specifically and effectively. I talked to Ruth on the phone to get more details and to order the actual Prayer Notebook. As we talked and I began to understand her heart about prayer and how the Prayer Notebook works, I knew I needed to put this into practice in my devotional time. The Lord has used it to teach me to pray more specifically for others. I can see the Lord answering prayers for my family and others that are resulting in real heart change.
As a result of my using the Prayer Notebook some of my family members and church family are now using it. One of the ladies in our church said that the Praying for Your Pastor and Pastor's Wife sheets gave her ideas of things to pray for that she would have never thought of on her own. Of course, as a pastor's wife I am very grateful for that! I love that the Prayer Notebook is adaptable to every person based on the leading of the Holy Spirit in their life. It does take effort but the Lord tells us in Psalm 119:10 "With my whole heart have I sought thee …" The Lord is using this method of specific, focused prayer to change me. I love to see that as the Lord is changing me my prayer notebook is also changing! I am so grateful for Him leading Ruth to develop this and to so graciously share it with others. |
